Actors

Today we was finally able to secure a male actor as the one we had before was unreliable. What makes this actor more reliable is that he goes to our college where as the other one doesn't. This makes communication between us the crew and the actor communication levels a lot easier as only one of the crew members new the actor we was going to use before.  Below is a picture of the male actor which will be participating in our short film.

As for our female actors the one we had also dropped out and we have unfortunately been able to get a new one to confirm they will be doing this. We have asked three people from performing arts if they are able to participate in our short film which they will get back to us tomorrow, if all three are unable to participate, our back up actress would be our co-director Shorai Shoniwa-Forchin.

Special Effects (Bruise)

As one of my jobs in the group is being the special effects artist i have to learn and expand the skills i have already and learn how to create a bruise. As i did not have the colours to do this task i am fortunate that we are near halloween and majority of shops are selling items which i can use for the special effects. I ended up going to pound land and buying a makeup kit. Picture is below.

With this kit i started using the paint crayons to create a bruise using the colours purple, yellow and green. Even though these are the colours which create an old bruise, it helps as a starter on how to use the colours and help me develop on how to create a new bruise. What i created using those three colours are seen below.

Inside Cargo Container

We were recently able to view the inside of the cargo container we will be using which allowed us to see how much work we will need to do to empty it and also allowing us to carry out our risk assessment.

The pictures show we will have a lot of work on our hands emptying the container showing we may need extra hands from friends to allow us to get filming quicker. We are also able to see how dark it would be from when we film inside the container showing us that we will need to buy portable lights to place inside, so we are able to see what we are doing while we are inside.

Above are closer pictures on what is inside the container. It also helps us to imagine items that are in this container, what can we use from this in our short film as we have permission to use what is in the container within our short film. Such as the metal pipes, we can use this as a weapon and other items can be left inside so it looks like a storage container.

Late Upload (Hollow Ponds)

Recently we visited Hollow Ponds to work out where we will be filming and also what route the actors will be jogging down. We found a route where there are big wide open spaces but close by are a lot of places for somebody to hide or to take somebody so no witnesses can see. Above is the pictures of the route the actors will take. As you can see in one of the pictures it has a split pathway where on the first day the girl is jogging the male character can jog going the opposite direction on the other side of the path.

Below are some scenery items which will help us remember the path and we could also focus on to try and make it feel like a more natural day. As you ca see one of the pictures is of a tree trunk, here we could do a close up of the feet running around the tree trunk showing she is going at a calm steady  speed. 

Below is another picture of a tree trunk we found walking further into the forest, as it is higher than the tree trunk above, we decided to get the female actor to cautiously trip over the tree trunk which is where the male actor will catch up and capture here.

Call Sheet

The image above which tells us when we will be shooting the film and at what location it will be at. In many occasions we should be able to shoot more than one scene, we have also added an extra date so that if we have any footage which we may not like we can easily re-do it without affecting our own schedules and making up a quick unrehearsed date.

Location Release

The image above is the release form to say that we can use the cargo container which is on site at Leyton Sixth Form College. We were able to get it signed by Vanessa and Gemma. 

Team Meeting

Team meeting for week 2 

• Back up actors as the ones we have already are not keeping in touch and confirming dates to meet.
• We decided on dates to film, so we can try our best to complete it before half term. If not we did also plan for one extra day after half term.
• We discussed that as we need the cargo container for our short film, we need to do a lot of work clearing it out, and also decide what we will keep from the cargo container to use for our short film, as we have permission to use that too.
• What props we would be using in the film and were we will get the props from.
• What clothing the actors will need to wear, also taking into consideration items they may already own, to keep cost down.
• What time of the day we will be filming.
• What day we should be filming on.
• What we scan do if one of the crew members were unable to attend on one of the filming days.
